Famous People from Wichita

The city of Wichita is no stranger to celebrities. For many years Wichita has been talented individuals who have excelled in different areas, which has given them international recognition. The celebrities that Wichita have produced are inclusive of, but are in no way restricted to the following persons: 

• Colton Haynes

Colton Haynes was born on July 13, 1988, in Wichita, Kansas; he is a famous actor and model, who is known for his roles in television series such as Arrow and Teen Wolf. Colton Haynes started his career as a model at the age of 15, and his first public appearance was in Bruce Weber. Soon after his modeling career took off and was followed shortly by an acting career. Today Colton Haynes is a popular name in the States and is recognized internationally. 

• Taryn Southern 

Taryn Southern is a 30-year-old writer producer, actress, singer, and the host of two popular YouTube channels. Taryn Southern was born on July 16, 1987, in the city of Wichita. Taryn Southern’s career started as a teenager when she became the co-host of a Kansas TV show. Her YouTube video series has gained the attention of over 100 million people and have been featured on programs and networks such as Cosmopolitan, USA Today, CNN, FOX News and ABC. 

• Jeff Probst

Jeff Probst was born in Wichita on November 4, 1961, to parents Jerry and Barbara Probst. Jeff Probst is the host and producer of a popular American reality TV show called Survivor that was first aired in 2000 since its aired date it has grown into a popular show and has been nominated and won several awards to date. 

• Alan Fudge

Alan Fudge came into this world on February 27, 1944, and left on October 10, 2011, at the age of 67. He was an American who came from Wichita and studied theater at the University of Arizona. His elevation to fame started with his appearance on a once popular TV series call Gunsmoke, where he played a bailiff. Alan Fudge went on to play roles in popular TV series and films such as Man from Atlantis, Eischeid, Paper Dolls, Bodies of Evidence and 7th Heaven. 

• Chris Buck

Chris Buck is a Wichita native, who studied character animation at California Institute of the Arts. His debut into fame was secured with his production of Disney’s animated film, Tarzan which was aired in 1999. Since then he has created a numerous amount of animated films and has garnered even more publicity due to his production of the popular Disney animated movie, Frozen which was released on November 19, 2013.  

• Jonathan Starch

Jonathan Starch also originated from Wichita, Kansas. He was born on February 4, 1959, and acquired his BFA from NYU’S Tisch School of the Arts in 1981. Jonathan Starch joined the Directors Guild of America in 1989. Since then he has worked as worked as Producer, Production Manager, and Assistant Director on a number of projects. Jonathan Starch is known for the production of Law & Order: Special Victims Units, Lights, Suits, 100 Centre Street among other popular TV series and films.  Additional Wichita KS information
